Our good friend Boom Bip asked us to take some promo shots to promote his new album Zig Zaj. Elated, we headed down to the most sci-fi beach in Malibu with a small arsenal of gear and fired off some of our best work to date. The photos will appear in various magazines, blogs, etc, and soon we will post them here. In the meantime, here are some behind the scenes shots to wet your appetite.
We had a blast shooting a new campaign for Sseko Designs, a really cool company with a cause to help educate women in Uganda. Check out their site for more information and how to buy.
With an awesome crew we trekked out to a dry lake bed and battled the elements for the perfect shot. (Actually, we lucked out and had the perfect amount of clouds and breeze, so it wasn’t really THAT hard.) Special kudos goes to our good friend Meagan Judkins who produced, art directed and styled, with the help of these amazing people:
Styling & Production: Samantha Silvers
Style Assistant: Naz Nowtash
Makeup: Karina Moore
Hair: Anton David
Thanks to everyone involved for making it an awesome shoot! We will post a gallery soon but for now here’s a little behind the scenes action…
We would like to give a special thanks to Barbara Streisand for the awesome fireworks display on our neighborhood beach in Little Dume. Babs, we gotta hand it to you, you really went above and beyond for the little people. The fog rolled out just in time and we had an amazing day full of champagne, swimming, paddleboarding, BBQ’ing, and of course, a schmorgesborg of cameras.
Check out our photo gallery and a time lapse video of the festivities, enjoy!
Check out this amazing video that our friend Melanie Bollomo made of this magical day:
What words can do Tulum any justice? It’s beyond amazing. The water is crystal clear and warm, the jungle is vibrant with colors, there are no crowds, there are caves to explore, amazing scuba diving and snorkeling, the food is delicious, and the powdered-sand beaches will just take your breath away.
We stayed at the Hotel Nueva Vida de Ramiro, in a gorgeous beach cabana. We brought an assortment of cameras and vintage lenses with us, including a Canon 5DMKII, S95, Nikon FG-20, and a Lumix LX-5, and shot hundreds of photos. If we could do it again we wouldn’t change a thing.
